Description Karina Shoelove 2024-12-23 16:30:42 UTC
SUMMARY
Lets say I have a 2 minute clip, and add some effects, after that, I cut the clip into i.e. 30 pieces `a 4 seconds.. After rendering I find that I want to remove a effect from all clips without selecting each clip, as I know which effect to remove on 30 places in my timeline. Currently this is not possible to achieve. Each of the 30 clips must be selected each by each and the effect stack must be collapsed and then the effect removed via the "Trash" symbol in the menu of the stack.
This would be much easier, if there would be a separate window like "Undo History" but lets call it "Used Effects" and it would list all effects used in the timeline section of the clips added to the timeline only on one column and maybe a columns with the clip reference where it is added to..

EXPECTED RESULT
Having a separate window / area in kdenlive to see all effects which are added in the timeline and it must be possible to select an effect and remove it in this menu, without selecting the corresponding clip.

Nice to Have
* searchable to search for multiple occourences of an effect and to multi select these to remove them all
* rightclick on an effect and "Select clip in timeline" reference or other useful references
* could ask for a confirmation when doing so or not if I add a "tick" to never warn again..

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Useful for all version

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Maybe a lot of work, if so please ignore this request..

Thanks for submitting this feature request. I think it has some merit ;-)

I propose basing the list of used effects on the selection made: Selected clips in the timeline, selected clips in the Project Bin, or clips in the selected track. That would prevent accidentally deleting an effect in a clip that you had forgotten existed, right?

That sound very promising and like a better match to some workflows.. I fully agree and happy XMAS!
