Created attachment 176841 [details] screenshot Good morning, I wanted to report that the "dolphin" application no longer allows me to access network folders shared by Windows, I get the error message "Invalid smb protocol". Searching a bit online I read that it could be a "dolphin" bug, do you confirm? When will it be solved? Regards
Dolphin uses kio slaves to access files. The one for the smb protocol is in the debian package called 'kio-extras', do you have that installed?
Hi Paul, kio-extras package is installed, version 4:24.08.0-4 Thanks
Maybe a packaging issue with Debian Testing? My Arch installation which has Dolphin 24.12.0 also has kio-extras version 24.12.0
Hi Paul, if i access the shared folder via samba command line i can access, the problem seems with Dolphin. Thanks
Hi Paul, I tried to purge all samba and all kde environment, then reinstalled everything but still have the problem. Please help me apt purge samba* apt purge smbclient apt purge cifs-utils apt purge kde* apt autoremove apt-get install kde-plasma-desktop apt-get install smbclient cifs-utils
Emy, A KDE developer may know better than me, but I still think it's most likely due to Debian Testing having incompatible versions of the Dolphin and kio-extras packages (24.12.0 vs 24.08.0). So if I'm right, the problem is with the Debian packaging of KDE software and not the KDE software itself. smbclient is completely separate from KDE and so is not affected by this. Have you tried searching or asking a question on the Debian user forums? Or searching the Debian bug tracker? Otherwise is trying a more stable distribution an option?
