Returning to the previous directory will pre-select the directory. If you choose to delete several files at this time, the pre-selected directory will be deleted by mistake. This basic logic is wrong and should be corrected immediately.

If this is from version 24.05.2, then that behavior has been changed in subsequent versions of Dolphin, as described in the bug report I'm merging this into. I would recommend that you update your system software, though as 24.05.2 was a significantly older version of Dolphin even when this bug report was filed (and is over a year old now).
