SUMMARY At specific size the room information panel collapses and when user resizes over that size the panel displays again. Problem is that even if I manually close the panel and reduce the size to small enough and increase it the panel appears again. It would be great if Neochat could remember that the panel was closed so that it doesn't open it automatically on resize. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Close the Room Information panel 2. Reduce the window size to small enough where the Room Information panel would collapse automatically 3. Increase the size of the window OBSERVED RESULT Room Information panel opens when the app is resized to big enough size even though the panel was closed manually EXPECTED RESULT Neochat remembers that the Room Information panel was closed and it doesn't open on resize SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.9.0 Qt Version: 6.8.1 Kernel Version: 6.12.4-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland
Hi - this behavior is controlled by a setting in NeoChat, located in the General section, labeled "Automatically hide/unhide the room information when resizing the window". If that setting is disabled, then once closed, the room information panel shouldn't reopen unless it's done manually. Hope that helps,
Hi, that does help, thanks. Although, I'd still like to have that option enabled (for it to automatically close when I resize the window), and then only expand if it was opened before resizing, but we can keep this as resolved intentional if you want since this is an expected behavior.
Ah - I see where you're going with that. Being able to toggle that sounds like a reasonable wishlist / feature request :-)
I guess it's okay to move it back to reported and see if Neochat maintainers would want to implement this.
Rephrasing the title as a feature request
