Can't reproduce with the Breeze icons. Can you try it with the Breeze icon pack?

I'll close this as it should be an issue with the icon pack (you can report the issue to the creator of that icon pack), but if you reproduce it with Breeze icons, reopen the bug.

Thank you.

It's not a issue with the icon pack and don't use just kde neo to do your tests.
It was tested with breeze icon theme too and happen the same problem. Also its a old bug dragging to 6.2.4.

You can't close the thread just because you can't see the problem. And keep the system with the problem.

When the system is in this state, if you click on the desktop and hit F5 to refresh it, does the icon change as expected?

Can you try recreating the trash by dragging it from Dolphin's Places panel to the desktop? Does that newly-created trash work as expected?

Recreating the trashcan seems to fix the issue.
I've had this problem for a long time. If it happens again, I'll report it.
A good idea to investigate what's causing this problem.

That means there's something wrong with your old trashcan; perhaps it was created in a different way. Glad the new one works.
