Description quanticcpu2100 2024-12-17 04:53:04 UTC
A bug that has been unsolved for over 20 years. Plasma is messing up the position of icons on the desktop. People complain a lot about this problem that doesn't get any attention and is making life difficult for users. When the computer goes into sleep mode and wakes up, it usually messes up all the icons on the desktop. When there are widgets on the desktop, this also happens and it also happens at random times. Also if you empty the trashcan their icon still full.

We have put a ton of work into this for Plasma 6.3, so hopefully it's a lot better there, if not fixed completely. I'd recommend re-testing there once it's released.

Beyond that, I'm afraid this isn't actionable because there's no specific actionable bug reported; rather, the bug report just says
"stuff is broken and people are upset". That may be (or may have been) true, but we need bug reports to be describing specific, discrete, actionable bugs, ideally with defined steps to reproduce. See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting to learn how to open an actionable bug report.
