Description David 2024-12-16 11:41:57 UTC
SUMMARY
Dolphin used to have a contextual menu from Ark to extract compressed files, either right there or to a separate folder. Such contextual menu is no longer offered in 24.12.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install a KDE version from the 5 series.
2. Download some compressed file, such as by going to some random github repository and clicking the download button.
3. Open dolphin and right-click said file. Notice that it offers the option to extract.
4. Upgrade all KDE to the latest version i the 6 series and restart the system.
5. Repeat step 3. If needed, go to the dolphin config for context menus and try to kind something about 'extract'.

OBSERVED RESULT
There's no context menu to extract compressed files.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should have context menus to extract compressed files.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The service menu is still provided by Ark. Make sure you have a Qt6 version of Ark installed, and that the menu is enable in Dolphin's settings.
