When you run a heavy game using lutris, proton, wine the application icon appears in the panel so if you show the desktop and click in the application icon on the panel to bring back the game to play this game crash for the simply fact to click in your icon on the panel. If you are playing Dota 2 or Counter Strike and try to reproduce this issue nothing will happen but if you test in games like Indiana Jones The Great Circle using Lutris Proton/Wine will notice the game crash after click on your icon on the panel to bring the game to the front.

There's no way Plasma can make an app crash like this; it must be something in Lutris or WINE or in the apps themselves, especially if it doesn't affect all apps.
