SUMMARY 'Save settings...' in the Find and Replace dialog does not save the file extension for the XML file unless you specify it as part of the file name. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select 4. Filename Tab. 2. Click Find and Replace... 3. Add a setting then click the Save Settings... button. 4. In the save dialog, name your file and click save. OBSERVED RESULT The file is saved without any extension. EXPECTED RESULT The file dialog has a .xml extension selected by default on save and load. I would expect the save dialog to use the selected extension when saving the file. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS kinfo command: Operating System: EndeavourOS KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0 Qt Version: 6.8.1 KRename Version: 5.0.2-14 KRename listed: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For what it's worth - strangely, even with the same version of KRename installed (as a Fedora RPM), I can't reproduce this. Just typing a basic filename (like "krenametest") results in a file being saved named "krenametest.xml"). Operating System: Fedora Linux 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.9.0 Qt Version: 6.8.1 Kernel Version: 6.12.4-200.fc41.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor Memory: 30.4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER/PCIe/SSE2
It looks this is no longer occurs for me after updates to my KDE packages. It doesn't appear this issues was directly related to KRename itself at this point.
Ah - well, glad it's working for you now, and thanks for following up!
