Summary is pretty much what the title says, with one addition: krunner can still be used normally while the other components are frozen.
Comment 2 Répási Dávid 2024-12-07 13:16:54 UTC
This happens in the wayland and x11 session as well.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2024-12-11 22:45:37 UTC
What's your hardware?
Comment 4 Répási Dávid 2024-12-12 14:02:04 UTC
It happens on two hardware configs:

#1
cpu: amd fx-6100
gpu: amd radeon rx-460
ram: 1x8 Gb 1600 Mhz dimm
system on a sata ssd

#2
cpu: intel core i3-2350m
gpu: integrated - mesa intel hd graphics 3000
ram: 2+4 Gb 1333 Mt/s sodimm
system on a 5400 rpm hdd

If more systeminfo is needed, I can provide, I just don't know what exactly I should add, and or if it really is a hardware issue.
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2024-12-12 17:41:29 UTC
Unlikely to be a hardware issue per se, but different hardware can exhibit different quirks, which is why I asked. I don't see anything known to be broken with that hardware though.

I had a Plasma freeze happen with FreeTube yesterday while moving its window around.
Desktop was unresponsive, although I could still hear music playing through FreeTube and system sounds
I was unable to get to TTY since keyboard and mouse were unresponsive.
I've never had this happen with FreeTube before, so I can confirm it's most likely a software issue

Trying to reproduce to get a backtrace.

Répási, can you try to get a backtrace on your system as well?
