Since some updates (I think since Plasma 6.2.0) entries in Klipper are not always and reliably created. Normally they should be copied to the clipboard when selected and pasted either with middle click or Ctrl+V into a corresponding document, program, field or whatever. This usually happens, but often it does not. Sometimes it works if you open the entry, select it and copy it manually with Ctrl+C, but not always. Hi - so that KDE developers can best understand what's happening here, could you please provide a clear list of the steps required to reproduce this bug, including any non-default settings (perhaps this includes some of the Clipboard > Configure > General Configuration options)? The following community page is available for reference: https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#Steps_to_Reproduce Thanks!

Okay, I'll try to explain: 1. create an entry in Clipboard (by copying with Ctrl+C or highlighting with the mouse) - WORD1 2. select an input field somewhere, e.g. a password field 3. go to a text somewhere in a Firefox window and copy it - WORD2 4. now go to Clipboard and click on the previous entry - WORD1 5. now go to the password field and press middle mouse button or Ctrl+V 6. sometimes the copied entry WORD1 is not pasted into the field, but WORD2 or even nothing at all. Then you have to open (edit) the entry WORD1, select it, copy it - then it can be pasted again
Thanks for the steps to walkthrough! I can't reproduce on my personal device, but that should help others dig in. On a possibly related note - I noticed your system info says Leap 15.6, but all the current KDE Plasma/Frameworks versions. Did those come through naturally via Leap updates, or did you add extra openSUSE / Open Build Service repositories to make those upgrades?
It's no wonder that you can't reproduce it , it doesn't occur in in every case. And yes, you're right. OpenSUSE Leap 15.6 is not delivered with the latest KDE Plasma. I got it from here: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories Everything runs great, except for this one problem. Obviously I'm the only one, because there are no reports of this anywhere else.
I'd be interested in knowing if you can reproduce this in a live ISO of tumbleweed with those steps and settings. If not, I think it's highly likely that it's caused by a weird interaction of the newer Plasma you've overlaid on top of the older base system. This kind of thing is often problematic, and being tempted to do it is a sign you may benefit from a different base distro with a faster release cadence (such as Tumbleweed).
Thx for your reply. I am afraid I am not able to run a live distro all over the day to try to repoduce it because it does not occur in in every case. Change to rolling is not an option because I do not have time to update often. But I will keep that in mind for further investigation.

Not sure to be a general bug because there are no other complaints about it. Maybe issue of my installation/mouse hardware. Closed for now.
