Description nyanpasu64 2024-11-21 07:24:49 UTC
SUMMARY
If I open a shutdown screen (either from the app launcher or Ctrl-Alt-Del), and press Super while the shutdown screen is fading in, visible, or fading out, Super no longer opens the app menu until I press Alt+Tab.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to open a black overlay with shutdown buttons.
2. With the overlay active, press the Super Key.
3. Press Esc or click the Cancel on the black shutdown screen.

OBSERVED RESULT
Super no longer triggers the application launcher, until I press Alt+Tab (either key individually does not work). I don't know what else clears the bug.

- Clicking the taskbar icon opens the launcher, but does not make Super open it.
- Clicking another app's window does not fix Super.
- Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del again does not fix Super.

EXPECTED RESULT
Super opens the menu.

Cannot reproduce as described on git master. Can you try in a new clean user account to rule out any shortcut config issues?

I have replicated this bug on two computers on X11, including a new user account on my second PC.

On Wayland, pressing Super does not prevent it from working afterwards, but instead opens *and focuses* the Application Launcher behind the Ctrl-Alt-Del overlay. You can press Tab 3 times then Space to sleep the system *with the Ctrl-Alt-Del menu open*, or 4 times then Space to attempt to open a restart menu with the Ctrl-Alt-Del menu open (I think it does nothing?).

Sounds like it's X11-only.
Comment 4 TraceyC 2024-11-25 21:55:20 UTC
I can't reproduce this on X11 git-master
I see the behavior described for Wayland in a previous comment - the KRunner menu is opened behind the ShutDown overlay

I am able to reproduce on KDE Neon. It looks like the behavior might be fixed in newer code.
