SUMMARY If I select text by holding the mouse button (in browser too) or files (in dolphin too), and before releasing the mouse1 I click with the mouse2, kde creates a bug that the mouse1 holding keeps pressed and the selection keeps executing. I don't know if anyone would want, specially by default, this to happen. Because if I click with mouse2, already holding mouse1, it means I already want to right-click to copy the text not keep selecting. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Hold left-button mouse1 and select text/files/etc. 2. Without releasing mouse1 right-click to show menu. 3. The graphic of keep executing mouse1 doesn't stop. OBSERVED RESULT Initially I thought it would keep the moment I right-clicked, but, it actually copies the content of the last selection. EXPECTED RESULT When mouse2 is clicked, it would freeze the mouse1 to keep selecting. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora (I believe it happens to all) KDE Plasma Version: 6.2 (I believe it happens to all) KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8 Qt Version: 6.8
Cannot reproduce at all in either Firefox or Kate, both on Fedora 41 KDE. Can you attach a screen recording that shows it happening? Thanks!

This is the case in any distro for years. Tested on Fedora, Opensuse... Simply select text, without releasing the left button, click the right (without releasing the left) moves the mouse around.
I can reproduce what you are describing in firefox, but not gedit or kate or dolphin. In any case this would be a client issue, please report there.
ui.context_menus.after_mouseup > true Apparently this is the solution. Still, I didn't like this forum complete unhelpability, with a grain of disdain for someone trying to fill here the improvement of your software.
