SUMMARY
In "key to choose 3rd level" I assigned "any alt", which causes the alt key to no longer be recognized as <alt> and instead as <undefined>

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  set a key in key bindings, for example as 3rd level key

OBSERVED RESULT
using keyboard testing programs returns <undefined>

EXPECTED RESULT
using keyboard testing programs returns <alt> or <alt left>

I cannot reproduce. Could you provide:
- The version of the xkeyboard-config package (or xkb-data).
- The content of your ~/.config/kxkbrc, *once* you set the option.
- What keyboard testing programs you are using. You may want to use xkbcli from the libxkbcommon-tool package.
