*** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Please remove this comment after reading and before submitting - thanks! *** SUMMARY 24.08-4707 to release-24.12 refuses to remember List View, every folder I open goes back to icon. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select a partition, set the view to List - Control + 3 2. Configure, Change Display Style to 'Use common' it changes from list back to icon. 3. Run control + 3 again, sets to list but then going back to the folder changes back to icon OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT If I set List view at the root of a partition/volume I expect every folder recursively to be also list view, NEVER icon and never any other view and less i specify it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please fix ASAP! List view with expandable folders is the SOLE reason to use this file manager on Windows, since nothing else on this shitty platform has a file manager with a list view like macOS Finder!!! I'd even pay to a bounty to get a developer to fix up all the non function problems with this file manager, like 1- can't drag a pdf from Dolphin to an outlook email for attaching, can't drag a png image to a a teams message 2- can't hit space bar to preview files like macOS quicklook 3- can't see the triangle (chevron) on expanded folders in list view 4- Split doesn't maintain individual tabs for each pane, close a tab in a pane closes the pane etc File managers are arguably the single most important and used part of the OS, yet very little development resources are seemingly applied to them.
