Description User8395 2024-11-15 02:52:20 UTC
SUMMARY
When waking up from sleep, a black screen is shown. After a few seconds, the screen lock may appear. If it doesn't, manual intervention via tty is required.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Suspend
2. Wake up

OBSERVED RESULT
The screen locker takes too long to appear or sometimes doesn't

EXPECTED RESULT
The screen locker should appear immediately.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux: Fedora 41 KDE Spin
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0

What kind of manual intervention do you do to work around this? On my end only hard restarting the display manager seems to work. Tried blindly typing the password and using loginctl to unlock. This started happening relatively recent.

Linux: Gentoo (kernel 6.11.9)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.7.3

Happens on kwin_wayland, x11 not tested. Happens on two different machines with Intel GPUs.

`# loginctl unlock-session 2`

Hi - for the original reporter User8395, what graphics card and session type (Wayland or X11) are you using? There are a few different bug reports around Kscreenlocker and I'm hoping to at least help connect ones together that might have similar root causes. Thanks!

Thanks! Adding to the bug title here as that appears to be a common thread on this one

Sorry we were not able to get to this yet. Can you still reproduce the issue in Plasma 6.3.4 or later? Thanks a lot!
