SUMMARY

Ive been getting this freeze problem the past week. Multiple times per day the system completely unresponsive for several minutes, then it comes back to life with 1-2 applications killed. Logs show each time it does it, multiple entries for "kwin_wayland_drm: Pageflip timed out! This is a kernel bug"
First few times it happened I'd reboot within a couple minutes, but then I just let it sit a while because I had important work I hoped to save, and it came back to life 10 minutes later. Since then I've just been letting it resolve on it's own each time. Seems to be within 5-20 minutes, more often 7-10 minutes.
When the freeze occurs, System Monitor is only showing 10GB memory in use, but the logs are showing OOM-kill, so the memory usage must balloon while frozen.

Fedora 40 KDE, 6.11.5-200.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit), KDE Plasma 6.2.2, Qt 6.7.2, Wayland, Dual Xeon E5-2680 (16 cores) 64GB ECC RAM, AMD Radeon Pro WX 2100.

Here's some sample log messages, it is not consistent with any processes triggering the Pageflip

2:17:38 PM kwin_wayland: kwin_wayland_drm: Pageflip timed out! This is a kernel bug
 2:17:38 PM systemd: app-org.kde.konsole@6c0fc61d270348e1bf92e4916873a4cc.service: Main process exited, code=killed, status=9/KILL
 2:17:38 PM systemd: app-org.kde.konsole@6c0fc61d270348e1bf92e4916873a4cc.service: systemd-oomd killed 6 process(es) in this unit.

1:55:51 PM systemd: app-org.kde.konsole@e8ce6c97e8774319bfd529e605cc1657.service: Consumed 5min 1ms CPU time, 48.1G memory peak, 424.0K memory swap peak.
1:55:46 PM kwin_wayland: kwin_wayland_drm: Pageflip timed out! This is a kernel bug

Do you maybe have no backlog limit in konsole?
