Observed error

SUMMARY
Can't enable HDR in plasma 6.2.3.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. System Settings -> Display & Monitor -> Click enable HDR

OBSERVED RESULT
Kwin freezes for a while until it allows mouse movement and displays a notification saying "Display configuration reverted." HDR is not enabled.

EXPECTED RESULT
HDR is enabled on the monitor selected.

Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 41
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0

I think I have the same problem but on Nvidia. Do you see these in your journalctl when you try to enable HDR?

Also does using these work for you? They do not for me.

Drivers by default unfortunately don't give out any information on why enabling things fails. Could you try to follow the instructions at https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/wikis/Debugging-DRM-issues to get drm debug logging for when you try to enable HDR?

For me it just ended up being a hardware issue. Unplugged and replugged the DisplayPort cable and now it works.
