SUMMARY

I have a project where I need to split a very long feed into several sequences to produce multiple video.

Several audio/video captures were made, but the quality in the audio is bad in one and the quality of the video is bad in the other. I thus align the video of one feed with the audio of the other. It makes more sense to do the alignment on the whole feed and to separate the sequences later.

To do the splitting, I cut the clips at the points I want then use the Create sequence from selection tool. This works rather well, except that I have to replicate some timeline settings (name of the tracks, master effects) manually in each new sequence.

PROPOSAL

In the dialog for Create sequence from selection, add three checkboxes :

 - Copy timeline settings : when checked, the new sequence will not only contain the selected clips, but also all the tracks the original sequence had, along with their names and the effects that are set on them ; also, when checked, the fields to choose the number of audio and video tracks to be created in the new sequence become disabled, and this would be inconsistent ;

 - Copy master effects : when checked, the Master in the new sequence will get the same effects as those from the current sequence's Master ;

 - Do not add new sequence as nested sequence : when checked, the newly created sequence will not be added as a sequence clip in the original sequence (or conversely, a "Nest new sequence in original sequence" with reverse meaning, checked by default).
