Description xmlsuplex 2024-11-09 00:33:39 UTC
SUMMARY
There are two actions (Cut, Delete) that want to use the same shortcut (Shift+Del). This is most probably a bug. Please report it in bugs.kde.org

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add shortcuts for cut, copy and paste to defaults (Edit), reassigning default shortcut to show clipboard (plasmashell).
2. Create shortcuts for showing and clearing clipboard (plasmashell).
3. Open Dolphin.
4. Behold ambiguity with cut default (Edit) and delete default (File), probable bug declaration.

OBSERVED RESULT
Cut and delete share a shortcut.

EXPECTED RESULT
Cut and delete have different shortcuts.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 41

Can confirm. If I press "Use defaults" in Dolphin shortcuts editor, and search for Shift+Del, it's assigned for both Cut and Delete.

This looks like an intentional thing. See https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kconfig/-/blob/master/src/gui/kstandardshortcut.cpp?ref_type=heads#L80
