Description kdebugs 2024-11-08 23:32:13 UTC
When I alt-F2 to open krunner and use it to start applications, it usually (maybe 75-90% of the time) will start consuming 100% of a CPU. krunner still works, but a core is running constantly in the background, the CPU cooler fans spin up, etc.

To trigger the bug I don't need to actually start anything, I just start typing and it searches through it's guesses, etc. A bit of that, opening closing the krunner window, etc, will usually make the thread go to 100% usage.

If I go into settings -> Plugins: Configure Enabled Search Plugins... -> Recent Files and disable it, then Apply, the core drops back to normal and everything works fine.

No other plugins seem to cause any problems, just Recent Files.
