Description jojo66 2024-11-02 10:42:44 UTC
Each time an application is updated by snap, the application icon disappears from the KDE dashboard, but the graphical component is still there. A manual update of the icon is systematically required (seen with firefox and cherryTree installed by snap).
Best Regards

Does this happen in the Kickoff or Kicker launchers as well?

How about if the app is pinned to the Task Manager?

What Plasma version are you using?

=> Does this happen in the Kickoff or Kicker launchers as well?
NO

=> How about if the app is pinned to the Task Manager?
SNAP updates only if the application is not in use.
If I launch the application after it has been updated, the icon appears in the task manager, whereas the icon has disappeared from the KDE dashboard

=> What Plasma version are you using?
KDE Plasma : 5.27.11
KUBUNTU 24.04.1

But this problem already existed with KUBUNTU 22.04 LTS.

Thanks for the information. Would be good to know if it still happens in Plasma 6.

I'm seeing this bug again today after SNAP updated Thunderbird.

Does it still happen in Plasma 6?

If it does, does the issue go away if you run `kbuildsycoca6` in a terminal window?
