Description Con Kolivas 2024-11-01 06:16:04 UTC
Application: plasmashell (5.27.11)

Qt Version: 5.15.13
Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Operating System: Linux 6.11.4 x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
DrKonqi: 5.27.11 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
Running the nvidia 550 driver with a 4070GTX and having Diablo IV running via wine, plasmashell will regularly crash after a few hours. Diablo does not need to be in the foreground for the crash to occur. It restarts most of the time but eventualy stops restarting and I have to spawn plasmashell manually. Logging out and in again will refresh it and then it won't crash for a few hours.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

-- Backtrace:
Application: Plasma (plasmashell), signal: Segmentation fault

The crash backtrace indicates that the problem is in the proprietary NVIDIA drivers.

Please report this issue to the NVIDIA folks, either by sending an email to linux-bugs@nvidia.com or making a post at https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-graphics/linux. It would be helpful to the NVIDIA developers if you could run nvidia-bug-report.sh and attach the resulting file in your report. Thanks!
