ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a suggestion and a wish!

I have been using the Geosetter programme for a long time to add geo-information to my photos.

Unfortunately, Geosetter has not been kept up to date for some time, which is probably due to the author's state of health (get well soon!).

In this respect, I would like to make the suggestion that the functionality of Geosetter be integrated into Digikam in order to become independent of the additional software, especially since Geosetter as an editor offers more functions than are currently available in Digikam.

I would be delighted if this idea could be realised.

Best regards,
Stephan

First of all, I would like to say that I have used GeoSetter as the first step in my image workflow so far and have therefore not yet tried out all the possibilities of DigiKam.
It may well be that DigiKam also offers many of the features of GeoSetter.

However, I have not yet found a way to edit the recording direction of the image (see attachment 1 [details]). In GeoSetter, an absolute target coordinate or a pure recording direction can be entered as an angle indicator.

In addition, you can also edit the recording location very easily in GeoSetter. For example, I have registered with ‘http://api.geonames.org’ to be able to determine and enter the location using a simple web query - see attachment 2 [details].

Another very useful feature of GeoSetter for me is the creation of templates, for example to easily enter the contact details and copyright in the image to be edited. I have included the two attachments 3 and 4 for this purpose.

I have seen that many of the entries can also be changed in the metadata editor. However, I find it a bit easier in GeoSetter that I don't have to differentiate between Exif, IPTC or XMP in the editor, but GeoSetter takes care of that for me.
If you want to make more differentiated edits, you can still do that - for me as a more basic user, that's not important at the moment.

I hope to give you an idea, what I meant with my general idea of my wish.
