Created attachment 175340 [details] Picture displaying the weird symbol SUMMARY When attempting to set keyboard shortcuts on specific windows that involve the Meta key (a.k.a. "Windows" key) , a random symbol (specifically, the Khmer vowel sign ៀ) appears before the Meta key in the shortcut field. This makes it impossible to assign shortcuts to windows that start with the Meta key. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Pick any window -> Right click on the title bar -> More Actions -> Set Window Shortcut ... 2. Try to assign a shortcut using the Meta key (e.g. "Meta+Shift+A") OBSERVED RESULT Once Meta is pressed, an unknown symbol gets inserted first (followed by "," + the correct key combination). As everything after the first shortcut is stripped, only the unknown symbol remains (and the correct key combination is stripped). EXPECTED RESULT It should be possible to set shortcuts that involve the Meta ("Windows") key. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.7 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 This Ubuntu 22.04 just upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Setting shortcuts to windows is the most useful functionality that saves tremendous amounts of time when working with over 50 open windows (most of which are e.g. Google Chrome and are hard to distinguish between). Using the Windows key to assign shortcuts makes most sense. Issue seems to be related to: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461207
Thank you for the bug report! However Plasma 5.24.7 is no longer eligible for support or maintenance from KDE; supported versions are 5.27 (LTS), and 5.27 (non-LTS) or newer. Please upgrade to a supported version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one. If you need support for Plasma 5.24.7, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing support for older releases that are no longer supported by KDE. If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to a supported version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
