Description stephenisverygood 2024-10-28 18:16:46 UTC
SUMMARY
I am using MSI's MPG 321URX QD-OLED monitor (https://us.msi.com/Monitor/MPG-321URX-QD-OLED), which is an OLED display that supports HDR. However, my Plasma 6.2.2 system (with an NVIDIA 4090 GPU) is unable to correctly detect the HDR functionality of the monitor.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the monitor connected to the 4090 via DisplayPort
2. Use the Nvidia open kernel driver with Plasma 6.2.2

OBSERVED RESULT
In the Display & Monitor section of Settings, there is no option to enable HDR.

EXPECTED RESULT
In the Display & Monitor section of Settings, there should be option to enable HDR.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: HDR is functioning properly.
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux 6.11.5-arch1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0

With the monitor connected, please paste the outputs of `kscreen-doctor -o` and `drm-info`. Thanks!

I have uploaded the command output. I noticed that the output from `kscreen-doctor` shows "HDR: disabled" instead of "incapable", yet there is no HDR option available in Settings. Additionally, due to certain reasons, this monitor is now only connected to another computer with an Intel integrated GPU and cannot be connected to the original NVIDIA 4090. Therefore, I have uploaded two `drm_info` outputs: one is from the NVIDIA device (originally the 4090 used for testing but currently not connected to this monitor), and the other is from the Intel device (with only Intel integrated graphics), which is currently connected to this monitor. Thanks for assistance!
