Description Abbhinav Jayaraman 2024-10-27 14:02:21 UTC
simply put, when I try to enable pop-up notification messages when I activate/deactivate the caps lock key, there are no pop-ups.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go into System Settings -> Accessibility -> Modifier Keys -> Check option to Show notification when modifier or Locking keys are used.
2. Configure Notifications -> Select "Show a message in a popup" for the the "A lock key has been activated" and for "A lock key has been deactivated"

OBSERVED RESULT
No notification popup, irrespective of Do not disturb or do not disturb overrides for the Accessibility app.

EXPECTED RESULT
Notification popup appearing on-screen.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I tried using Kubuntu 24.10 on the same system, and this issue is not present. I am also going to try installing the latest normal Fedora KDE Spin, and see if the issue is present there.

Also to note, I do have hybrid graphics (AMD iGPU and NVIDIA dGPU), but I had the dGPU explicitly disabled via python envycontrol when I encountered this issue on Aurora DX .

The only specifically relevant post to these accessability popups I could find was this one here [224076](https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224076)
