STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Navigate to https://www.google.com/ in Chrome (v130 here). 2. Use Plasma's emoji picker to copy any emoji. 3. Paste (Ctrl+V) the emoji into the search bar. OBSERVED RESULT Chrome's UI hangs for a random number of seconds. Minimizing-restoring or Alt+Tabbing seems to help unfreeze it sooner. In the end, the emoji might be pasted or lost, forcing the user to retry. EXPECTED RESULT The emoji is pasted without adventures. Is Chrome in native Wayland more, or XWayland? Does it reproduce in both modes?
And cannot reproduce with Firefox in native Wayland mode, FWIW.
I use it in Wayland-native mode, but I was able to reproduce this issue also through XWayland
Cannot reproduce with current git master of everything KDE and version 130 of Chromium or Ungoogled Chromium in native Wayland or XWayland mode.
This has been fixed by some update 🤷♂️
