STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. login into a wayland session with your credentials 2. plasma shows the animation as it loads the desktop 3. audio plays but suddenly gets muted + takes way too long to load. OBSERVED RESULT it should let the session login audio play as normal, regardless the lengh of it, and it shouldn't take too long to show the desktop. normally it takes just 3 seconds, now it takes up to 9 - 10 seconds. EXPECTED RESULT plasma plays the session login audio normally, and takes a short time to show the desktop. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux, plasma 6.2.1 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0 Qt Version: 6.8.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION no additional info. would attach logs if possible. just tell me what to add.
forgot to mention. I'm using pipewire as the audio server, and the login sound gets muted after some seconds while loading the session and desktop. the login sound is an .ogg file, though I don't think either the format or length of it should affect the results as it was working fine before.
another additional info: it not just mutes the login sound, but actually mutes the whole system audio when loading the session. audio works after I manually unmute the system.
Does any of this reproduce in a new clean user account, or on a live session? It sounds like you may have some audio customizations that are interfering with things.
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > Does any of this reproduce in a new clean user account, or on a live > session? It sounds like you may have some audio customizations that are > interfering with things. after some more updates, the issue is no more. seems like the latest fixes for plasma 6.2 fixed it. weird. I cannot reproduce this on new accounts neither live sessions anymore due to the updated plasma.
Great!
