Created attachment 174990 [details] The test window after clocking a speaker icon SUMMARY Testing Audio in the KDE Settings app does not work on FreeBSD STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install KDE5 on FreeBSD 14.1 according to the instructions on the FreeBSD site. Check that sound is working fine, e. g. by playing a WAV/MP3/OGG file in a built-in audio player. 2. Open System Settings in KDE and navigate to the Audio page. 3. Try to test sound. Open the test window and click any of the speaker icons. OBSERVED RESULT Error trying to play a test sound. The system said: "No such driver" This message pops up near the speaker icons. EXPECTED RESULT Playing two different test sounds, one for each speaker. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS FreeBSD: 14.1-RELEASE-p5 (64 bit) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11 (the same bug on 6.1 as well!). KDE Frameworks Version: 5.116.0 Qt Version: 5.15.15 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I tried this on VMware Workstation (under Windows 10) with two different virtual audio configurations supported by the FreeBSD kernel. Other people on the FreeBSD forum tried also on real hardware.
Fixed in 6.4.4 (possibly a bit earlier).
