I have a new microphone. It is a JLab Talk USB microphone. I have activated it as audio input in Kdenlive (display settings: JLAB TALK Microphone Digital Stereo (IEC958). Under Ubuntu I use Kdenlive as appimage version 24.08.1 My system: # System details report ## Hardware information: - **Hardware model:** Dell Inc. PowerEdge T20 - Memory:** 12.0 GiB - Processor:** Intel® Xeon® E3-1225 v3 × 4 - Graphics:** Intel® HD Graphics P4600/P4700 (HSW GT2) - **Hard disk capacity:** 2.5 TB ## Software information: - **Firmware version:** A20 - Name of the operating system:** Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS - **Operating system build:** (null) - Operating system type:** 64-bit - GNOME version:** 46 - **Window manager:** Wayland - Kernel version:** Linux 6.8.0-47-generic Unfortunately there is a problem with the microphone when I want to record something. I select a track for recording in my project under Kdenlive and after selecting the microphone as the source I can also see the level when I speak into the microphone. As soon as I start the recording, nothing is recorded and shortly after I stop the recording (reverse contdown), Kdenlive crashes and I have to restart the program. With a completely new project, an error message window appears in Kdenlive when I stop recording: “The file /.../capture0008.wav cannot be opened”
Maybe an access issue. Does the file capture0008.wav can be imported into Kdenlive and does it play?
Hello, thank you for the mail. But I don't know how and from where i can import capture0008.wav file. Can you explain me, please Regards Reiner Brauweiler Am 26.10.24 um 16:56 schrieb emohr: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=494990 emohr <fritzibaby@gmx.net> [1] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keywords| |triaged Component|Timeline & Editing |Project Bin & Import CC| | fritzibaby@gmx.net [1] --- Comment #1 from emohr <fritzibaby@gmx.net> [1] --- Maybe an access issue. capture0008.wav should either be in the project folder or in the video folder. A search may help. Once found drag/drop capture0008.wav into the project bin an try to play it. Or just try to play it with a double click.
Hello, now I find the capture0008.wav in my projekt. It is 1,21 second long and it plays but nothing to hear. I have now tried versions Kdenlive 24.08.2 and 24.08.3 as an app image. Still the same error both times. Nothing is recorded with the new microphone. However, you can see the levels from the microphone on the screen, but nothing on the track. If I open a new project and want to record something with it, the error message " .... .wav" cannot be accessed. However, I have installed version 24.08.3 on the same computer under Windows 11. The microphone recording works perfectly here.
