Use the Menu: Settings -> Show hidden files

Already doing this, as you can see in the kbackuprc settings I posted

showHiddenFiles=true

it shows the folders, but not their content

and the content isn't backuped either - only an empty folder

with hidden folders, the file selection UI doesn't expand to show the content. It only expands with non hidden folders.

I can not reproduce here.
Is it possible that you have some access permission issues?
Can you look into these folders under the same user from within the command line?

I can look into this folder under the same user with cli or Dolphin.
Under Plasma 5 it worked fine.
Stopped working after Kubuntu 24.10 upgrade.

Can't remember if Plasma 5 was using a Snap install, but Plasma 6 is definitely using Snap.
Don't know if this can be a pointer.

WORKAROUND
Seems Snap prevents Kbackup from seeing the files below a ~./hidden folder

Removed snap version and installed older "non-snappped" kbackup 23.08.5-0ubuntu4 from a .deb package and now it works.

I trully hope someone find a workable fix.

seems the workaround will work as long as you don't want to write to a SMB (NAS) share

ok, thanks for the update.
However as this is obviously a snap issue unrelated to kbackup itself, and therefore nothing I can change, it makes sense to close
this issue.

maybe you could look into the use of snap's "personal files" - I'm absolutely clueless if that could help.
As it is now Kbackup is partially useless for ~/home/* backups

I have no clue about Snap and there is nothing in kbackup specific to this.
