Description Liviu Mirea 2024-10-16 17:07:37 UTC
SUMMARY

After upgrading from Plasma 6.1.x to 6.2.1, I noticed my cursor starts to glitch after night light comes into effect. For example, if I hover over a link in Chrome, I see a misaligned arrow icon instead of the hand icon. If I restart, the cursor is completely invisible - still works, triggers hover effects and clicks, but invisible. Disabling night color immediately makes all problems go away.

It might be related to Nvidia + Wayland, not sure. I'm on the latest drivers: 560.35.03-14. I'm also using 3 monitors - sometimes the cursor is glitching only on some of them, not all.

Strange enough, I wanted to record the behavior using Loom and it's *not* showing in the recording. So, I had to record with my phone.

Phone recording (mouse glitches): https://drive.google.com/file/d/12A8ZlwZAGklCAMGTj89VlGRmkP8jzuZt/view?usp=sharing

Loom recording (mouse shows up correctly, also no color temperature change): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j2vlzW65G4LMeAo3MXCY_02RshGOnTWI/view?usp=sharing

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable night light during the night

OBSERVED RESULT
1. Cursor icons are broken, cursor becomes invisible after restart.

EXPECTED RESULT
1. Cursor and icons to work as expected.

Just upgraded to 6.2.1.1, can confirm it's now working properly.
