SUMMARY Since upgrading to Kubuntu 24.10 I found that I can't get thumbnail previews for any files in my Plasma Vault. I then checked the Dolphin settings in the Previews section and didn't find much relevant, but I had a hunch that maybe it was "Remote storage" that was affecting it because I had that set to "no file". I then turned this on and found that it started generating previews again. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set "Remote storage" previews to "no file" 2. Open a Plasma Vault 3. Observe no previews in multiple folders in the Vault 4. Set "Remote storage" previews to "files above 100 MiB" 5. Open a new Dolphin window 6. Observe previews in multiple folders in the Vault OBSERVED RESULT no previews in the Vault EXPECTED RESULT previews in the Vault SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Operating System: Kubuntu 24.10 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Kernel Version: 6.11.0-8-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7840U w/ Radeon 780M Graphics Memory: 60.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon 780M ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
