SUMMARY
Submenus in context menus are misaligned in KDE Plasma.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

2. Hover over an option that has a submenu.
3. The submenu appears, but it is not aligned correctly with the parent menu.

OBSERVED RESULT
Submenus are not aligned properly, making it difficult to use them.

EXPECTED RESULT
Submenus should be properly aligned next to the parent menu, making them easy to navigate.

I installed the KDE Plasma 6.2 update and this problem is still present.

Unfortunately I genuinely can't notice a bug in your screen recording. But regardless, menu positioning is handled by Qt, so if there is anything to change or fix, it would have to be done there.

I'll describe the situation like this: I move the Dolphin file manager to the bottom of the screen. When I right-click on an empty area to open the context menu, and as shown in the screenshot, when I hover over the '+ Create New' menu, the submenus appear in an incorrect position. This issue occurs not only for 'Create New' but for all menus that have submenus.

I'm afraid it's still an upstream Qt QMenu bug.
Comment 5 istanbul 2025-02-18 17:27:27 UTC
This issue only occurs when using Wayland, but it doesn't appear when using X11.
