KDE Connect does not work after the latest updates yesterday

This is the error that is observed in place of the device name: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote app

are they related to the android bug?
This is observed on the desktop however

You don't see anything on the desktop because the Android client is not running on your phone, it keeps crashing. There was no recent update on the desktop software since last month (with KDE Gear 24.08.1), but probably you got the update on the Android app yesterday or few days ago.
