SUMMARY After upgrading to KDE Connect 1.32.3 on my Pixel 8a w/ LineageOS 21, the KDE Connect App does not open at all any more / crashes immediately. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install KDE Connect 1.32.3 (from F-Droid in my case) 2. Pair with KDE Connect Desktop (24.05.02 on gentoo amd64 in my case) 3. (no modules/plugins for the connected desktop device are shown) 4. Close KDE Connect App 5. (Try to) re-open KDE Connect App OBSERVED RESULT The modules never show up, instead KDE Connect on Android will crash whenever trying to open it EXPECTED RESULT From step 3 onwards already, all configured modules/plugins show up and are usable. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 24.05.02 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I've captured a crash log via adb logcat: https://gist.github.com/jmbreuer/137b5fac2c8cd8045e855f69cd0948ee App versions up to 1.32.2 work OK for me.
Ah, I guess this might exactly be the culprit: java.lang.SecurityException: Settings key: <enabled_input_methods> is only readable to apps with targetSdkVersion lower than or equal to: 33
Looks like it's fixed, just wait for the release and update. If you still have issues after the update you can reopen it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 493943 ***

They tend to take a couple weeks on average... I see that KDE Connect for some reason does not seem to be part of http://cdn.kde.org/android/fdroid/repo
1.32.5 has arrived in F-Droid and I can confirm that it works for me (at least - it opens in general, the couple of functions I've touched so far all look good). Thanks everyone!
