SUMMARY
If you highlight a group of files in Dolphin and then try to apply a tag or
change a rating in the F11 Information Panel, sometimes the change is
applied to all of your highlighted files, sometimes just one. The information panel
does not recognise that you have selected a group of files, you need to
    manually refresh.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1...
For adding a xattr tag - Move to a folder with several files, open the
    information panel.

2...
Open a terminal and confirm that the files do not have tags added

        $ getfattr -d *

3...
Select a handful of files in Dolphin, move mouse to the information
panel, open the Tags "Edit" dialog and assign a tag "mytag":

4...
Repeat the "getfattr -d *" to check whether the tag has been added
    to all the files

5...
It may be worth, with the same selection of files, adding a second tag

OBSERVED RESULT:
Often, despite Dolphin highlighting your selection of files, that tag is only
added to one file. The behaviour appears unpredictable.

You also see this behaviour if you highlight a group of files and change the rating.

EXPECTED RESULT:
The information panel should recognise when a group of files are highlighted.
This seems not to happen - or at least not reliably.

Highlighted files should be considered selected when editing tags or ratings. This
is how Dolphin behaves when moving or copying files - the highlighted files
    moved or copied.

Adding a tag to a selection of files works *if* you select the group you want, move
to the Information Panel and press F5. This refreshes the Panel and you will see
it change to say "X items selected". You can then edit tags or change ratings for
    the selection of files.
