Description skquinn 2002-10-19 08:51:33 UTC
Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE KDE 3.0.4)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs

When receiving a symmetric encrypted message in KMail (one encrypted with "gpg -c" or "pgp -c"), it is treated the same as a public-key (asymmetric) encrypted message. Worse, if it is the first message of the session, the passphrase prompt is exactly the same as it would be for a message encrypted to one's own secret key, and the passphrase is cached as if it were! This has the potential to really confuse users for no good reason.

Adding support for symmetric encryption is a wish and no bug. Does any other
email program actually support this?

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
