Description Zack Melan 2024-09-30 20:45:05 UTC
SUMMARY

Plasmashell ram usage continues to grow without ever going down after using Application menu by hovering over the entries in a motion going up and down.

 TO REPRODUCE
1. Open application menu
2. Hover with mouse cursor over the entries in a fast/moderate-speed motion going up and down
3. Monitor increased ram usage (Sometimes the menu along plasmashell as a whole lags too before the increase in ram usage)

OBSERVED RESULT
I managed to make plasmashell consume as much as 3GB but you can even go higher.

EXPECTED RESULT
I except plasmashell to not consume more ram than what is truly needed or to at least reuse what has been cached in ram
without duplicating any objects in memory.
