Description geryjtdthrs 2024-09-30 16:28:27 UTC
SUMMARY
When you copy an image from KolourPaint and then close KolourPaint, the image disappears from your clipboard. Instead in clipboard there is something that was copied NOT in KolourPaint before.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open KolourPaint.
2. Draw something, select image with ctrl+a, copy it with ctrl+c.
3. Close KolourPaint.
4. Paste with ctrl+v into any software - for example LibreOffice Writer.

OBSERVED RESULT
Something that was in a clipboard, but not the copied image, will be pasted.

EXPECTED RESULT
Image that you copied should be pasted.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)

KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.13

As far as I see, this is not kolourpaint specific.
e.g. try copy something from loffice writer, quit loffice, start it again and try to paste the previous. Here it pastes nothing.
This is what I can remember forever: whenever you close the originating application, the clipboard content gets lost -
unless you probably have klipper running.
