SUMMARY
Sound does not work on my laptop

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Log in
2. attempt to turn up the sound
3. it does not turn up the sound

OBSERVED RESULT
It stays mute even though the icon says different

EXPECTED RESULT
For the sound to work

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 
macOS: 
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.10.8-arch1-1 (64 bit)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
My laptop is a Acer Chromebook 315 (Gemini Lake) Blorb

Sounds like a driver issue. Maybe your laptop is not supported by Linux yet.

But to rule KDE out does it work on another DE like Gnome? Maybe try asking on an arch Linux forum, DE's like Gnome or KDE shouldn't cause audio devices to become inaccessible.

Is it using pipewire for audio? Or pulseaudio and alsa?

It has worked before on arch although I was using i3-wm and it took some troubleshooting
