Description Jens 2024-09-26 14:31:42 UTC
If you want to import the bookmarks of your local Firefox installation (here: in my Tuxedo OS 3 installation, Firefox in version 130.0-1, provided by the Tuxedo OS repositories) via the "Organize Bookmarks" Library window, the following message is displayed to you:

"Importing from Mozilla Firefox: Mozilla Firefox usually stores its bookmarks in places.sqlite SQLite Database. This file is usually located in $HOME/.mozilla/firefox"

I checked the location of that places.sqlite file. It is located in the following sub directory:

$HOME/.mozilla/firefox/<generic letters and numbers>.default-release/

Where the folder name "<generic letters and numbers>.default-release" is defined in the following file:

$HOME/.mozilla/firefox/installs.ini

I think the information about the location of the places.sqlite file is outdated in the Bookmark Import Wizard and should get corrected there.
