Created attachment 174036 [details] Launchers management SUMMARY I think Quicklaunch needs few more features and fixes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a panel to a side of the desktop. 2. Add Quicklauncher components to it. 3. Add launchers to the Quicklauncher components. OBSERVED RESULT The management of launchers on the Quicklaunchers is problematic. On one hand, every component has displayed document-like icons around it, on the container panel until the system reboot. Those icons had various sizes. EXPECTED RESULT Those document-like icons should not appear at all. Launchers are expected to be added by drag and drop from the Plasma menu or by a dedicated context menu on the Quicklauncher. The following features are of interest in order to make it more user-friendly too: - add an option to display icons only - add an option to display the icons horizontally - add an option to adapt its size to the contained launchers when displayed horizontally too - add an option to drag and drop launchers - add an option to assign an icon to the Quicklaunchers similarly to the Folder View component - add an option to expand the Quicklaunchers on mouse hover Look at the Plasma 5 Tiled Quicklauncher in order to assess those features (that component is great, maybe too complex, so not all its features are described here, but it is good for reference). Thanks for the Bugzilla ticket! Unfortunately it requests multiple distinct features and reports multiple bugs which will make it not actionable. Please open one bug report per requested feature or reported bug; thanks! See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#Multiple_issues_in_a_single_Bugzilla_ticket for more explanation.
Hi, for me, those features together, as a whole, makes it interesting and usable. I can split it in items, sure, but each taken separately does not solve the problem.
