This is really a duplicate of bug 423544 which is about a supported component and was closed by mistake.
Seems it works for regular thumbnails, but the preview panel ignores it. Is this what you are experiencing too? dolphin 25.03.70 Operating System: Fedora Linux 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.9.0 Qt Version: 6.8.0 Kernel Version: 6.11.8-300.fc41.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor Memory: 15,5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6600
This report is about the regular thumbnails, and currently I'm unable to reproduce the reported issue. But I can confirm that the preview panel ignores the setting. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0 Qt Version: 6.8.0 Graphics Platform: Wayland
Alright, if you can't get the issue anymore I think we can close this. The preview panel showing thumbnails even with this setting works as intended. Thanks for the report!
oh, no... can reproduce again on Arch (Dolphin 25.04.3) and neon unstable. Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 Graphics Platform: Wayland
