Gwenview freezes while opening a picture

SUMMARY
Opening files in large folders on HDD freeze Gwenview. It seems that it's also processing other files in that folder and locks itself while doing so. 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open picture in large (>1 GiB) folder on HDD

OBSERVED RESULT
Gwenview will freeze until it processes ALL files in that folder.

EXPECTED RESULT
I just want to view a single file.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Would be great if Gwenview would process another files in parallel without locking its GUI.
