Description sammmmy 2024-09-04 13:29:06 UTC
SUMMARY:
Have downloaded 'KDE connect' onto ''Android'' mobile phone & ''Windows'' 10 Desktop
There are ''no linked'' devices on both the apps?
Viewed the 'No connection ' instructions on the 'support website'.
These all relate to 'Linux' with Terminal commands to reconfigure a Linux firewall.
Attempted to allow the 'KDE Connect' App though the ''Windows Firewall''.
But cannot seem to find the exact file location for the KDE Connect app to allow though the Windows Firewall (KDE Connect app is not listed in: USERS,PROGRAMS,WINDOWS,MICROSOFT file search).

Is it possible for you to give instructions for Windows Based users on how to configure KDE Connect so it can pass though a Windows Firewall.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download app on Android & Windows 10
2. Devices not connecting (no devices shown on Android or Windows KDE Connect Apps).
3. Attempt to allow through / configure for Windows 10 (not Linux)
4. Find File location of KDE Connect App, to allow through Windows Firewall

OBSERVED RESULT:
Unable to allow a KDE Connect App though a Windows Firewall, as the KDE App file location not located on the Windows 10 File/Program system (or none that I could easily find)

EXPECTED RESULT
Expected a paired connection between Android/Windows (link on Syncthing / Signal messenger) without configuration of Firewall

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

Many thanks if you can help resolve, suggest.
I do use Linux as well, but not, as yet, as my daily driver (hopefully in 2025 and beyond!)

I am having the same issues, but my windows machine is running Windows 11, my phone is an iPhone, and the internet connection I am using belongs to my university (I live on campus).
