SUMMARY In my fresh Artix Linux setup with KDE Plasma, the battery icon is shown on the lockscreen but not on the SDDM login screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Boot the computer 2. Observe issue on login 3. Login 4. Lock the session 5. Observe correct behaviour on locked screen OBSERVED RESULT The battery icon is missing. EXPECTED RESULT The battery icon should be there, as it was on other setups of mine running Artix on Plasma 5. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: 6.10.6-artix1-1 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is on a clean Artix Linux installation with OpenRC as init system, to make sure I didn't have the system dirty by eg. upgrading from Plasma 5. SDDM is running as its own user under Wayland and it uses KWin as its compositor - exactly how it's expected by the `sddm-wayland-session` rules.)
This doesn't work because it requires Powerdevil, which isn't running at the time in the SDDM session. Ultimately to make this use case work better, we need to figure out a way to have better integration between the login screen and KDE technologies.
