Description Tomáš Pártl 2024-09-03 11:16:07 UTC
SUMMARY

On my 1920x1080 pixel notebook display, the timeline only takes up about a quarter of the total height of the Kdenlive window, even in full-screen mode and it cannot be resized to a taller height UNLESS you hide the Compositions Widget.
It's because the Compositions Widget insists on being very tall. This is clumsy, because if you want to have a nice, tall timeline where you can see the alignment of clips in multiple tracks, you have to disable the Compositions Widget.

The remedy should be simple: allow the Compositions Widget vertical size to go down it it displaying maybe 2 lines of items. Right now, it insists on showing 10.5 lines.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. make sure the Compositions Widget is visible.
2. Try to resize the timeline area to its maximum height.
3. Now hide the Compositions Widget and try to resize the timeline again.

OBSERVED RESULT

With the Compositions Widget visible, you can only make the timeline much less tall than when the Comp. Widg. is hidden.

EXPECTED RESULT

The Compositions Widget shouldn't be in the way of resizing the timeline, or at least not this much.
