Description Die4Ever 2024-09-02 10:44:16 UTC
SUMMARY

MKV output is much nicer so you can watch the beginning of the video before it's done rendering. I don't see an option to use NVENC and output to MKV like OBS does.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Kdenlive 24.11.70 daily build from Aug 31st kdenlive-master-8737-windows-gcc-x86_64.exe

You can simply create a render profile/preset with matroska as the container. Go to Menu > Project > Render, select the profile you want to use with mkv, click on the "Save current preset as new custom preset", select "matroska" as container, and save it under a new name.

thanks that did work, that's a pretty hidden feature though, it should maybe be one of the default profiles
